Baking bread in our Bee-hive oven
Willow branches are weaved into a form shaped like a bee-hive. Clay strengthened with straw is built up around the form. Once it dries, a fire is built into the oven to dry it further (the willow burns up).
After it is completely dry and hard, a fire is built inside to heat the oven. When it is hot enough, the coals are pulled out of the oven. The bread dough is placed in the oven and heated. After it is done, more bread is baked until the oven must be reheated by rebuilding a fire in the oven.
